Welcome to Stitching and Stirring!
Stitching and Stirring is a home-based quilting service owned and operated by me, Marilyn Y. Gore, a life-long quilter who has stitched literally hundreds of quilts. Marilyn holds a BS and MS in Family Consumer Sciences (formerly known as Home Economics) with a concentration in Clothing and Textiles from Bennett College and Howard University, respectively. After a 31-year career as a Family and Consumer Science Area Agent with the Cooperative Extension Service, she retired to follow her passion for quilting. Stitching and Stirring is dedicated to the preservation of quilts and the art of quilting with special emphasis on quilts that represent the African American culture and history.
Stitching and Stirring pledges to provide you with quality, creative quilts and other items. When finished, your quilt, cosmetic bag or travel purse will be a one-of-a kind masterpiece, a family treasure to pass along through many lifetimes. Your product will be constructed by a professional quilt artisan with over 50-years of experience. During the quilting process, you will be provided with frequent consultations, pictures, and updates.
Mother and Daughter Artist Collaboration
Stitching and Stirring along with Seaside Memorial Memories will create custom picture cosmetic/travel bags and tote bags. The cosmetic/travel bags would be a great gift for Mother’s Day, a bridal party. and other special occasions…the possibilities are endless. The tote bag can be used as a computer case or overnight travel case. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for production.
